In honor of Money Smart Week, the Attleboro Library hosted a seminar called “Protect Yourself Against Identity Theft” using content outlined by the Federal Trade Commission; the nation’s consumer protection agency. What’s identity theft? A criminal that wrongfully obtains any person’s personal information with the intention of financial gain is committing identity theft. Personal information that might be stolen varies, but may include an individual’s social security number, credit card information, banking information, and even computer passwords; anything a criminal can turn a profit from.
