Women-Owned Business Certifications

We’re proud of our WBE and WBENC certifications!

Here at Berry Insurance, we’re proud to be a woman-owned business. While owning a business is overwhelmingly fulfilling and empowering, it’s not without its challenges. But we don’t dwell on the challenges – instead we embrace new opportunities.

Helping people is at the center of what we do here at Berry Insurance. In order to better serve our customers and access more resources, we’re also certified as a Women-Owned Business (WBE) by both the state of Massachusetts and the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC).

In Massachusetts, the Supplier Diversity Office (SDO) certifies minority, women, veteran, and disadvantaged business enterprises and manages programs that help more diverse firms participate in the public bidding arena. One of those programs is the Supplier Diversity Program. It was established in 2010 to promote supplier diversity in public contracting.

WBENC’s national certification process is overseen on a regional basis. Here in Massachusetts, the Center for Women Enterprise (CWE) handles the detailed and lengthy certification process. They looked over our business structure and visited Berry Insurance for a site inspection to make sure that we met the criteria for certification. Each business eligible for WBE certification must be at least 51% owned, operated, and controlled by a woman or women. Women business owners face unique challenges, especially in winning corporate and government contracts, and have been underrepresented for many years. Becoming WBE & WBENC certified helps break down barriers and helps companies like ours expand their reach. As a result, we’re able to help even more people get the protection that they deserve.

Real protection from real people – it’s the Berry Insurance way.
